Danny Harrell, LCAS
Founder | Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist
Danny Harrell established Drug & Alcohol Assessment Services in 1996 and brings more than four decades of experience in the substance use and mental health field. Throughout his career, he has remained deeply committed to supporting individuals and families as they navigate recovery and legal-related treatment requirements.
Danny is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and a Certified Prime For Life Instructor. His extensive experience and client-centered approach continue to shape the high standard of care provided at Drug & Alcohol Assessment Services.
Patti Cain, MSW, LCAS, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist | Licensed Clinical Social Worker
ADETS Instructor
Patti Cain is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience in the field of substance use treatment. She is a certified Prime For Life Instructor and provides Alcohol and Drug Education Traffic School services.
Patti earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and completed her Master of Social Work in December 2017. Patti is known for her approachable style and commitment to helping clients gain insight, accountability, and practical tools to support lasting change.
Lauren Michaelson, CADC, SAP
Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor | Substance Abuse Professional
Lauren Michaelson is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 17 years of experience in the substance use field. She completed the UCLA Extension Drug and Alcohol Studies Program in 2015 and earned her CADC credential in 2016.
Lauren is qualified to conduct DMV Hearing and Medical Review Board Substance Use Evaluations and has recently obtained her Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) credential. Her expertise allows her to support clients navigating complex legal and employment-related substance use requirements.
Since joining D&A Assessment Services in 2023, Lauren has been a valued member of the team, bringing a balanced approach of accountability, understanding and support to every client.
Michele Leonello, CADC
Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor
Group Facilitator
Michele Leonello is originally from Upstate New York and earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from SUNY Empire State College, with a concentration in addiction counseling and criminal justice.
Michele brings over 30 years of experience in the field of addiction, with a strong focus on supporting clients involved in the criminal justice system. Her extensive background allows her to provide informed, compassionate, and practical guidance to individuals facing substance- related legal challenges.
At D&A Assessment Services, Michele continues her work in the addiction field by empowering individuals throughout the DWI process. As a group facilitator, she helps clients understand program requirements, build accountability, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Darci Braxton, LCAS-A, LCSW-A
Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate | Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate
Office Manager
Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, Darci earned her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services from East Carolina University in 2016, which led to her initial role as an intern with D&A Assessment Services. She later rejoined the D&A team in 2023 while pursuing her Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Darci integrates her personal lived experiences with a strong clinical foundation to build authentic, compassionate connections with clients. Her approach is centered on empowering individuals to create positive, meaningful change as they navigate challenges.
